Shady Front Yard Makeover

After years of trying to grow grass in his shady front yard, our customer came to us this Fall looking for an alternative to reseeding with Fescue and hoping it will turn out better the next year. As a secondary goal, he was looking to add more variety (perennials, shrubs and smaller trees) to the rest of his front yard.
Deer Resistant Pollinator Garden

A South Charlotte homeowner initially contacted us to discuss having us help with maintenance on a front yard refresh they had engaged a local garden center to design. In describing their vision for the yard, they discussed a naturalistic English gardenesque look with a variety of perennials of different colors and bloom times. After the designer they engaged told them that wasn’t possible in Charlotte and we expressed our surprise with that, they asked us to put together a design for their main foundation planter.
Front Yard Refresh

Over the years, A South Charlotte homeowner (and beekeeper) had added various shrubs and flowers to their beds with varying degrees of success. They came to us looking to redo their front garden beds to add a sense of cohesion / intention to the plantings while being friendly to pollinators.
HOA Entrance Planters

A South Charlotte HOA changed the planting beds for their 2 entrance planters from annuals which had to be replaced twice per year and were devoured by deer to a mostly native perennial planting that we expect to be highly deer resistant and to provide seasonal blooms from April through October.
Lake Wyle Screening

A Lake Wylie homeowner of a recently constructed home was looking to add screening for her neighbor’s shed and boat house. The area for screening the shed was along a slope subject to water flow during storms and had heavily compacted soil due to being used as an equipment path for multiple construction projects. A secondary general challenge was heavy deer pressure.
Shade Garden

We converted a portion of a shaded backyard to a woodland shade garden with spring and fall blooms.

A South Charlotte condominium owner was looking to add wildflowers to add color and support wildlife while keeping it neat and tidy to keep his HOA happy.
